Iceland: Day 9 (Stykkishólmur and Kirkjufell)

Rise and shine peeps!

Our legs are still tired of the 8km walk in total to and fro DC3 plane wreck yesterday. If you are interested to know itinerary and budget for this trip click HERE.

Window is like a picture frame.  Almost every hotel/hostel we stay has such amazing view. You can hardly find any ugly corner in Iceland.

 Tjörnin lake

Washroom is called snyrting...dunno how to pronounce.

Having my pastry at such a beautiful scene.

Our precooked macaroni lunch in the car. We were having pasta almost everyday!

Looks like a mini volcano crater.

Grab some snacks on a gas station at Stykkisholmur.

Ground control to Major Tom ~ Walter Mitty.

Did I tell you we fell on the way up to this viewing point. It was hilarious yet terrifying. Other tourists at the bottom dare not climb up after seeing us gripping helplessly onto the tiny barrier steel on the side.

It was sloppy and slippery so I sat here the whole time while hubby busy capturing whatever he needed.

The road to our second last homestay.

Check in Sudur-Bár guesthouse. Highly recommended. The best stay we had in Iceland. This guesthouse wasn't our choice at all due to the location a little bit out of town but we booked anyway because all hotels at Grundarfjörður was sold out. Now we are glad for that mishap. If we ever come to Iceland again we wouldn't think twice about staying at Sudur-Bár.

This pic is brightened like a thousand times.

Love the homey and spacious room. Didn't expect to be given the largest room. The owner Marteinn (Martin) was very helpful and friendly too. He always asks if you need anything.

We booked the room on ground floor with private bathroom. Only RM800+ for two nights.

Our beef noodle dinner with added ham.

Northern lights galore the entire night even after we went to bed!

Came back to our guesthouse and saw this! See you tomorrow as we tour around this peninsula tomorrow.

HAPPY TRAVEL!
