Review: 2 days 1 night at Novotel Bali Benoa

Hello travelbugs!

Yearning for an affordable beach front holiday? Novotel Bali Benoa is the answer. Though I only stayed at Novotel for that extra night in Bali to celebrate anniversary with my hubby, I thought of doing a review about this gorgeous beachfront resort. I would also like to thank my friend who helped to book.

Our relaxing Tropical Terrace room. I did request for honeymoon deco like rose petals and swan towels back in January but they must have forgotten to note down.

Novotel Bali Benoa is a sea front with 187 rooms, cabanas and villa resort on the edge of the peninsula of Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua.

View of the very airy high ceiling lobby.

Welcome drink and warm towels at the Le Club Accor member desk. Only USD100 is required for the returnable deposit. And also make sure your notes are newer ones coz they did not accept our tour-mate's older version dollar note.

The hotel features 3 swimming pools, 3 restaurants and 2 bars, a kids club, gym and ‘In Balance’ spa. You can even have your own spa right inside at the comfort of your room. For only 200k rupiah, soak into therapeutic bath, inhale the essential aroma and release your tension.

The resort is set up in traditional Balinese style amongst beautiful tropical gardens and ponds.

Free wifi and free business center, daily theme buffet with live entertainment, 24 hrs room service, daily activities for children and adults are only some of the many offers of this resort.

Deluxe rooms starts at RM335 per night and situated at another wing across the road in a multi-storey building with no elevator so that's why we opted for the beach wing. However there's a traffic security to aid your way when you want to cross the road. Thumbs up for Novotel.

The one bedroom villa with private pool would cost up to RM1200 plus.

I booked Tropical Terrace Double room without breakfast at RM436 from a friend who is an Accor member. With breakfast and free cancellation would cost RM665 per night which we felt it wasn't worth it. We could save to buy more souvenirs since this is supposed to be a budget trip. We also wanted to book the Beach Cabana but the only difference is more garden space and an outdoor tub which I'm not fond of.

Wow I didn't expect it to literally appear like a terrace house with a cute traditional wooden gate.

Love the tranquil landscape at every corner you turn. There is a couple of decks on the patio and an outdoor shower at the side.

Spacious room equipped with flat screen TV.

King sized bed is comfortable enough for us but the aircon or whatever noise we heard at night can be noisy though.

Enormous bathrub at the center, toilet and separate shower behind the glass doors. The shower head attached to the bathtub has terrible water pressure. It's like my dog taking a piss.

The safe is located inside the wardrobe and fridge in the cabinet. Oh be sure not to use water from the tap for drinking even after boiling. I remember there's a caution sign somewhere. I did not see the sign at first and boiled it for my instant noodle soup. It was as salty as sea water. I wonder if the resort sourced tap water from the sea???

Toiletries provided by the resort. Shaving kit, dental kit, sewing kit and comb must be requested by dialing the extension. That's quite a turnoff for I have been to cheaper hotels that even provide all these amenities.

Depth of the pool is about 2 meters. I am not fond of deep pools. They do have children's pool around the corner.

Powerful bubbly jacuzzi.

Relax your mind and forget about your worries.

The newly reclaimed beach launched on 26th October 2015 is not the powdery white sandy beach we expected and the sea was swampy with seaweeds and not "swim-able" albeit the next day after 10am the tide was high.

Abundant of sofa decks on the beach.

Enjoy the ocean view and the natural beach surroundings Cocos Beach restaurant serves a la carte for lunch and dinner. Specialties include hot stone and pizza. A la carte lunch and dinner including waterfront ice cream, smoothies and milkshakes : 11am – 11pm. Themed Buffet Dinner on Wednesday and Saturday: 7pm –10pm. Daily Beach Specials: 12pm – 3pm. Happy Hour: 5pm –7pm.

 The lobby in the evening.

 Getting ready for dinner.

Nanas bar provides high table ideal for socialize. Get your special selection of beverages including signature cocktails, mocktails, champagnes, wines, fruit juices, and beers as well as bite snacks served daily from 11am till 11pm and happy hours from 6pm till 8pm.

Laze on the cosy lounge and listen to music.

Uluwatu restaurant is especially famous for its themed buffets that offer a truly interactive culinary experience combining the best of Balinese, Asian and Western cuisines. Buffet breakfast starts from 7am to 11am while themed buffet dinner from 7pm to 10pm.

An interactive live cooking experience is designed to allow the guests to interact directly with the chefs and have their desired dish prepared in the open kitchen.

Special live entertainment will be performed on this stage in relation to the themed buffet.

 Evening pool view.

Brightly lit path to the rooms.

Lie on the deck and watch the stars is the most romantic thing to do.

Hubby and milky way everywhere he goes.

Sunrise in front of the man made beach. See it's unlikely you can swim here.
